What I liked

Writing is pretty sharp overall and Binet and Poisson do strong work as down- on-their-luck LA strivers. Kiman shines as a sleazy, but somehow tragic record exec. However, it is Demetris Hartman as the Cockroach who dominates this show. He oozes arrogance and invincibility when he’s not pleading for food. A wonderfully watchable entertainer and someone to watch. Kudos should also go to Whitehurst for penning such choice lines for this villain and for Costume Designer Pojawa for such an awesomely evocative costume. It embodies cockroachiness in all its shades of brown, its texture, and movement.

What I didn't like

The two scenes revealing Wayne and Tea’s struggles in the industry fell short. They came across a bit overly serious compared to the very effective “broadness” of the scenes with the cockroach.

My overall impression

Slightly uneven tone does not detract from this highly entertaining piece featuring a memorably icky antagonist.
