The writer skillfully blended her own story with that of her Great-Great Grandmother Anna Ruth. I shall not spoil the story for those who have not yet had the opportunity to see and hear this performance. Yes, hear this performance. Susanna’s ability to change the sound of her voice made it easy to believe there were two characters on that stage – one living and one not. And always at the right moments, her songs seamlessly brought together two generations separated by distance and time.
This one woman show brought to mind the old adage – I know what I like when I see it. And, I liked “Hello Susanna”!
