A 2010 Hollywood Fringe Festival “Best Comedy” Nominee
A politically incorrect one-woman comedic cage match pitting race against class against religion. Tales of a non-conformist black girl in extreme rural Maryland who almost “gives up on black people”, takes the Official Preppy Handbook as her co-pilot, and flees to a Delaware boarding school with dreams of being nouveau riche and living Jesus-free in Connecticut. Dark, dark, comedy from a dark, dark comedian. Written and performed by Jacquetta Szathmari. Directed by Leslie Collins.
On my thirty third birthday, I revisit my "comical" life events. Surviving three wars in the Middle East, losing my virginity in a brothel, courtesy of uncle Fady! Finally moving to Los Angeles where I perpetually try to balance sex, Catholic guilt, family and auditions, basically my own internal wars.
