My overall impression
Wow, that was so much fun! A good, silly tale of the underdog with a sophistication you would not expect from what is ostensibly a live-action Kung fu movie on stage, but about librarians! Lauren Van Kurin oscillates wildly between quirky and endearing goofball Liberian and Bad Ass Killing Machine. Carrie Keranen’s range could not be contained by that stage! Her opening moments are subtle and charming and later she plays a wackadoo lady larger than life but with 110% commitment! Eric Giancoli, the master of sexy and deception. Pete Caslavska is heartbreaking. Fight choreo is fucking awesome AND hilarious!
