What I liked

Taming of the Show is a fun piece of theatre that is sure to bring laughs. It is a quick show with minimal set and some really enjoyable performances.

What I didn't like

I came into the show expecting twist on “Shakespeare”, but its not like Shakespeare at all. Its a play about a theatrical production of “Taming of the Shrew” being done in a prehistoric times and all the dramas that take place backstage.

My overall impression

Anthony Papastrat plays “Ron”, the zealous actor who is always over doing it and thus injuring himself in his over-brimming passion for acting.

Paula Deming creates the strong character “Betty” with a lot of specificity in her physical moments and and vocal affectations. She had a couple of hit lines that drew some good laughs from the audience.

Jeff Decrosta plays the new ASM, Eddie, who has a nice singing voice.

Chinese Enekwechi played the strong headed, leading lady Annie. Her pretty smile and feisty attitude added a nice flavor to the show.

Steve Peterson played the wise Hilary. I wish he had more stage time. All of his scenes and dialogue were a joy to watch because of the truth he brought to the character.

Greg Steinbrecher was the “leading man” egotist/narcissist Brayden. His delicious interpretation of the character successfully made him one you “love to hate”.

The stand out performance of the show was Marc Forget as Montana. He played the manic director of the show and completely captured the energy of the Hollywood diva who essentially cares more about himself than the production as a whole. He took the stage in all his scenes with flair, demanding all the attention. And boy did he get it!

Oh, and the guy who plays the “Auditioner” in the one scene, was funny! Wish he was in it more.
