What I liked

A unique idea—-opening and exploring the abandoned suitcases of deceased inmates of a real-life mental asylum.

What I didn't like

Trivializing the concept by making up dumb stories using the props!

My overall impression

Here’s what Fringe is for: Ms Walsh is trying out on a small scale material she thinks could be a full-length play! She’s right—-but this isn’t it! She has assembled great props to support her thesis, but what she does with them is 100% the wrong way to go. Instead of anthropomorphizing the contents of the suitcases, she should be discovering (or fictionalizing) the stories of the inmates behind them. Either way, there’s fertile material in the concept, but she needs another director and, perhaps, an imaginative collaborator. Good Wishes, Ms Walsh!
