What I liked

I could go on and on about all the great things in Angel’s Flight, first and foremost, it felt like such an experience, it transcended the typical boundaries of Theatre and really captivated me. The direction was spot on, every single moment seemed so thought out and specific, there was never a moment of doubt or insecurity, the piece was directed and acted with complete confidence and determination. The Theatrical aspect of the show was also very note-worthy, I’m usually very skeptical of breaking the fourth wall or any sort of Brechtian approach to Theatre, but Angel’s Flight was a phenomenal example of how it totally works if you commit 100% to it. All of the actors were extremely well-cast and did a phenomenal job, special shout-out to Schoen Hodges who completely mastered the archetypical Film Noir Misogynistic Protagonist.

What I didn't like

There was nothing I disliked about the show, what I would like to see if done in the future is for it to be expanded to 75 minutes or so, add in more characters and expand on the existing character’s personalities and wants. As great as the venue was for the show, it did make the entrances and exits a tad awkward due to how tight it was. I would have also liked to have seen the climactic scene to have been expanded upon.

My overall impression

The show truly was fantastic, having worked with Benjamin Schwartz and Matt Ritchey in prior productions, it filled my heart with so much joy to see them collaborate and create this hilarious script, you could see both of their unique styles of Comedy in every inch of the script. You are going to have a hard time finding another Fringe Show that is so well-crafted and filled with so much passion. See this show, there is literally no reason not to, I imagine it would be almost impossible for someone to not have a good time seeing Angel’s Flight.
