My overall impression
My gal and I saw “Boss” yesterday evening and really enjoyed it. Lots of laughs (not surprisingly). But what was surprising was a reverence for the material. Luvara so fully embodies Tony Danza that I actually felt Tony’s big heart and sweet good nature. All the other actors were terrific as well, mixing a tongue in cheek/wink wink/ nod nod approach with a genuineness that proved highly effective. This might well be credited to the deft direction by Matt Ritchie.
