DESCRIPTION
“Yield to Whim” is a shared evening that invites the audience into a world of athletic, theatrical, whimsical dance.
Invertigo Dance Theatre (Laura Karlin, director) presents Descent of the Docent, a piece in which a museum guide takes the audience through a tour of a modern dance piece. A playful look at how we understand and interact with art, in particular that big scary field of contemporary dance.
Equal parts reality show and high-powered contemporary dance, Catch Me Bird (C. Derrick Jones & Nehara Kalev, directors) transforms the ups and downs of relationship into an artistic journey, exploding the boundaries of art and life with aerial spectacle, verbal sparring and madcap humor. Catch this sneak preview of their upcoming world premiere at The Ford Amphitheatre Friday August 13, 2010.
