LOS ANGELES, CA. – June 7, 2015 – Happiness is never what it seems; and some people just seem to be luckier than others. Through storytelling, vignettes and poetry, Leslie Murphy’s solo show, “Sincerely,” has captured the essence of what it’s like to persevere through trying times with humor, and finding solace in the most unlikely of places.

“Sincerely,” directed by Rebecca Hengstenberg, is Leslie’s first featured solo show as writer and performer. The show is based on a series of unfortunate events that took place over a span of two years. From heartbreak, to a night in jail, to an apartment break-in and three months of nomadic couch-hopping, to lost body parts in door hinges of jobs you hate, to the letters from strangers that arrived once a week in the mail. “Sincerely,” takes you from rock bottom, up through the thick of it, and back out the side window.
