My overall impression
The Goodluck Girls was a wonderful surprise. I wasn’t sure what to expect of the show, with its heavy topic and comedy nature, but it turned out to be a gem. I found myself laughing out loud in multiple scenes and wondering how they would tie it all up in the end. The piece creates a unique view of political and social issues through eyes of the third world and the eyes of the first while bringing a bit of humor into the mix. The best part is that though it uses loud humor, the message and moral come across clearly and the play makes a statement. Its different and brilliant and not something you’re going to see anywhere else. Go see this show, it will open your eyes and make you laugh.
