My first play of the Fringe...and what a great start. Amazing evening of both laughs and some rather disturbing conclusions. American civilians kill more people with guns in a year than any other country in the world. AMMO takes you on a journey into the lives of people who place a priority on having guns in their lives whether its teaching your child to hunt, or playing mental games about who you would kill if you could. Jeremy Kehoe brings his dark sensibility and his trademark gift for wordplay to a four-part meditation on the role of guns in American life. Each scene approaches the subject from a different perspective; together, they're pretty much guaranteed to leave audiences troubled and thinking. Though the staging is minimal, it does an excellent job of transporting us into the four very different worlds its characters inhabit. The strong acting takes us the rest of the way. My first Hollywood Fringe show of the summer and I chose a winner. I entered the Lounge theater fully prepared to be apprehended by a play that took on the issue of guns, or more specifically access to guns. What was great about the production was that the play presented four isolated narratives that look at multiple access points of gun theory, per se. The cast was strong in each scene, and some of the actors double parts and play each role with freshness as they bring their different roles to life. There are a lot of questions about guns that are asked, and in a casual way it does not answer those questions directly. Instead, AMMO provides a room for dialogue. This was my first Hollywood Fringe show and I enjoyed it. I was aware vaguely of the premise being related to the issue of guns and access to them, yet, was wholly unprepared for the diversity of the narratives. The strength of the writing was left room for discussion and thought. I loved the variety and strength of the cast. Suspense, moments of dark comedy, and amazing monologues left me grateful to have experienced this unique, thoughtful and powerful play.... full review

Writer Jeremy Kehoe brings his precision-sharp point of view to this piece. And timely as well. Have been a fan of Jeremy's work and his writing here continues to show his skill creating dialogue that is both painfully direct and comedically relieving through out. Kudos to the stand out performances of Drew McAuliffe and Andrew Preston along with the rest of the cast, director and crew building a piece to speak to a rising crisis in our country today.... full review

Very well done play. It was an entertaining mix of both comedic timing and a timely topic. The four vignettes give the content a multi-angle approach to a disturbing issue amassing every day in this country. Well acted and well written. Definitely worth attending.... full review
