My overall impression

The show went up a few minutes late due to the technical issue of the projections that apparently play a huge part in this production not working. This makes me more excited to see the show. The show must go on. A cliche yes, but a very important aspect of theater. The show did go on and I was intrigued as to how the show would cope. It not only coped but shined. Daliya bakes for us as she does her one woman show. She compares all her ingredients to aspects of a relationship. Very funny and entertaining. I couldn’t help but think though…“where is this going?” There was an underlying layer of pain that I felt was being pushed aside for comedic purposes. I was laughing throughout but I wanted to know where Daliya was going. Was she going to keep joking and not let us in, or was she going to stop the comedic banter and just release the honest pain that a previous marriage had put upon her.
YES!!!!! She did the latter. She sat down, stopped baking, then let us in. It was beautiful. She explained what it was like at the end of her failed marriage and how hard it was, and can be for both parties to come apart. Me and the patron sitting next to me were welled up and had visible lumps in our throats by the end of this story. It was so honest and true and relatable. It was what we needed. Then the fun started again. BRILLIANT! Lot’s of jokes and random dance routines that were so stupidly funny.
A really talented lady with a lovely engaging show that had me in both, pure laughter and a crushed heart. Then baked treats! What else do you want from theater? Me? Nothing. Superb.
