This was not high on my list of thing to see and I couldn't have been more wrong, FOUR TREE PLAYS features razor-sharp characterizations from Dawn Alden, Whit Spurgeon, Leilani Marie Smith & Brenda Weinhold. Top-notch direction by Tim J. Lim. The plays range from "Eh" to Excellent, but there is plenty of good writing to go around. Go see it! Caution - sitting in the back 2 rows mean you will miss much of the action, so sit up front if you can.

Oh... I left off the "n" on Brendan Weinhold's name in my review (NOT Brenda!) -- Brendan obviously has incredible range, and is one of 4 outstanding actors in this show. Don't miss it....

I absolutely loved this show. It was everything Fringe should be. Quick, smart, tight, clever, thought-provoking, beautiful and astoundingly well-acted. The actors were an incredible and perfect ensemble. Each piece touched me in a different way. Everything about it was simple and clean, yet detailed and sharp and nuanced. What a terrific show. DEFINITELY go see it....

Where do I begin. The cast were extremely forced and amateur in their performances. The content was at times frivolous despite the obvious metaphors about the human existence, which held no weight given the poor delivery. There were moments within the four plays which were forced and uncalled for; I failed to see the driving force for these reactions which had no emotional depth to them. There were some funny moments, but in all I was extremely disappointed by the four plays and sat writhing in my seat for most of it. It is plays like this that have always deterred me from attending the Fringe Festival, sometimes I think Hollywood should just stick to making movies. ...

Sometimes it's difficult to experience well-developed plays in Los Angeles. This play really had me thinking about the trees, if they truly have feelings, and how important they are to mankind. Each actor committed 100% to the four tree plays. I also enjoyed the modern dance-type arrangement, I believe, in the third play, so look out for that because it brought a real, tender, emotional, humanistic approach, to how an older tree may feel. What a pleasant surprise!...
