My overall impression
At Fringe, one of my first questions about a show is “how long is it?” mainly because I stack shows and see several a day. This show is longer than most – past the 2 hour mark, and I can say for sure it is 100% worth every second. Well written and masterfully performed, Generation Me is this year’s MUST SEE musical. I’ve seen many shows this year, including a LOT of musicals, and no one can compare to these kids! With a cast of under-18s we miss out on seeing them at Fringe Central or other Fringe parties that are 18+, but don’t let that discourage you. The cast in phenomenally talented (we “grown ups” at Fringe should be looking up to THEM!) and the show has high production value all around from the music, choreography to even the set and lights – a difficult achievement at Fringe!
This show has my vote for Best Musical this year, possibly even Top Of The Fringe. It’s that good. Don’t miss it.
