My overall impression
I LOVE THIS SHOW! Love Me Richie is a nuanced, superbly crafted play. I love the burlesque element that appears in the show and that the play examines a fading dancer and an aspiring war hero during World War II. Both people display a huge desire to become part of the American fabric but are denied that opportunity due to Jim Crow Laws and personal demons. The play is well crafted by Kenyetta Letheridge and superbly acted by Maryam Myika Day and Michael Ralph. I just love this show! They all do a fine job of transporting us back to the 40’s so we can take a glimpse of this often times unexamined lives.
