My overall impression
I am a writer, director, producer and an actor. I grew up in entertainment and spent the majority of my childhood either in plays or watching them. I say all of that to say that I can be a harsh critic at times. With that being said, Keena Unbranded is excellence in theater. I’ve seen the show twice and both times I was beyond pleased. She is fearless as she takes you through her story. Her delivery is so powerful that her story becomes your story. What she doesn’t say in words, she forces you to FEEL in her beautiful dance interpretations. Its rare that an artist can entertain, inspire and capture all in one. She seemlessly flows through scenarios and situations and you can only hold on for the ride/experience. Whether you’re losing your virginity with her, preparing to get beat up by so called friends or mourning your lost grandfather, in Unbranded, her experience is your experience. Keena is fearless, hilarious, inspiring and powerful ad an artist. If I can, I will see the show again.
