My overall impression

I walked into O, Fallen One not really sure what to expect – but I was pleasantly surprised. This modern interpretation of one of Shakespeare’s most beloved and troubled characters manages to be both creative and well executed with strong perfomances from all of it’s actors from beginning to end.

If I had to suggest ways to make this show better, I would offer up a couple things. First, find a new venue. The seats in this place are very very cramped and uncomfortable, and it’s hard, being 6’2’’ to sit with my knee caps pressed into the seat infront of me for an hour. Secondly, use an original score, and underscore the whole show – maybe even with live musicians on stage. The music from The Social Network soundtrack for the first 7 or 8 minutes of the show works, but the audience is way too familiar with it, and it takes them out of an otherwise beautifully executed presentation. Three. Never, ever, ever, especially when it’s 110 degrees outside, turn your air conditioning off. If you’re worried about being heard, project. The heat yesterday was miserable.

Those are technical things, unrelated to the show really – you guys should be proud, it’s a great piece.
