A timely topic, sharp writing, and a superb cast make #Hashtag one of this year's Fringe must-see shows. It's a well-executed piece full of great performances. Keep an eye out for subtle yet wonderful physical flourishes in Spencer Howard's and Nathan Turner's performances. It's amazing how much the show packs into 50 minutes. Hashtag is a little complex in its structure, but simple in its message: no matter how many communication devices we have, it's no substitute for real, human interaction. In the age of the 8G whatever iPhone, their message is vital. At no point does Hashtag get preachy. It's fun or at least funny throughout, even when things start to darken for our hero, leading to a wonderfully bittersweet ending. The performances here were great, the casting perfect. Apparently the actors were heavily involved in the scripting and it shows. This baby belongs to all of the and they clearly love it dearly. I think you will too ... full review
