My overall impression
I’ve seen at least 10 shows at the fringe this year, and this is the only one where I’ve felt compelled to write a review. From beginning to end I was enthralled by what I saw onstage. The script is charming and elegantly weird, the cast is brilliant, the direction is spot on. There are things to nitpick about: the set was falling down, the actress playing “Red” at the end wasn’t as strong as the rest, and the theatre is very warm. But there was not a moment of the show where I felt like it wasn’t the very best thing I’ve seen at the fringe, and one of the best pieces of theatre I’ve seen in Los Angeles. This doesn’t just deserve an extension; it deserves a full run Off-Broadway.
