My overall impression

SEWER RATS AT SEA is an intelligent and well-written play that takes the audience through an intriguing verbal journey with the “Girl" played by Lauren Marie and the “Boy” played by Mike Rosenbaum. Both actors are well cast and quite capable of holding the interest of the audience through the duration of the play.

The standout performance, however, is that of Cameron Miller who plays the “Waiter” as well as “Miles Morden”. Miller’s exquisite comic timing and characterization of the waiter at the opening of the show is a perfect device to capture our attention and draw us in, and while all three actors give excellent performances, the stage seems to come to life when the Waiter and Miles Morden characters are present.

The play is well-directed by Aaron Lyons, who cleverly transformed the black-box stage into a yacht deck/cabin, and the writer of SEWER RATS AT SEA is 20 year-old ZK Lowenfels. We should probably keep our eyes open for her next work.
