The start of the show had me some what worried- I didn't necessarily feel the performer was connected and genuinely seeing all of the "guests" in the audience she was addressing. But as the show went along, I was pleasantly surprised how I was increasingly sucked into the world and by the end, actually emotionally attached to and moved by her and some of the callers. Some fun writing and moments. The songs were a bit jaring and cheesey, although I even found myself entertained and enjoying the last one. ... full review

I absolutely ADORED this show. Jeffrey Wylie has created a wonderfully engaging and endearing character in Lyla, and her show is both entertaining and weighted with a surprisingly profound emotional punch. A wonderful commentary on relationships of all kinds for all ages, this show also tugged at my heartstrings with its compassionate treatment of the sensitive and relevant topics of adult bullying and gay teen suicide. I'm so glad to have seen this show this year, and I can't wait to find out what happens next to the lovely Lyla KaRug. ... full review

I saw this show during a Saturday morning a matinee, and while the audience was a bit tame, we were fully invested in Lyla. Being from the south, I especially loved the complexity of the character as she showered us with her hilarious cultural political incorrectness, while still being good down to her bones. I know people like that, which made it all the funnier.... full review

This is a production that should be shown in every high school. It is both moving and thought provoking. It made me laugh and cry and I would see this again in a heartbeat.... full review
