This is a hilarious, sweet story told with unwavering enthusiasm by a very, very talented cast. In stark contrast with some other Fringe pieces- this is a polished, professional show. If you're already familiar with TOS, I can't imagine you'll be disappointed. If you're new to it, as I was- it's a treat! fringeblog.webs.com... full review

I asked some shows if I could see a dress rehearsal. There’s no time to waste when Fringing. Director Corey Lynn Howe and her talented team bravely took me up on the offer. Heather Lake bounded into rehearsal with all the energy I expect from her past performances. Hugs all around, quite literally! Travis Dixon, playing Hunter, expressed some confusion over Hot Pockets and how to eat them on-stage without getting Hot Pocket mouth. Then they jumped into a run-through. I’d never seen the show, nor heard any of the music to my knowledge. Howe said I was in for a treat, and gave a knowing smile. She was absolutely right. The love and pain of creating a new play, blank pieces of paper mocking you, wondering how people will accept and love y... full review

Just like that famous song from our youth, "this is how you do it." Corey Lynn Howe has directed a masterpiece that showcases the extremely talent cast in a show about the process of writing and staging a hit musical. I loved the inside references that most theater people will get. I especially loved the singing (go Heather Lake!), which is a good thing, since this is a musical. This show inspired me. It was the perfect ending to my hectic Friday. [Title of Show] has a very good chance at being named Best of Fringe! Check out my full review on Examiner.com.... full review

The modest production requirements of [title of show] (“4 chairs… and a keyboard”) and the strong, playful, music theater cast assembled ironically allow this particular Hollywood Fringe show staging of a fringe show about the creation of a fringe show to avoid the negative connotations often associated with a fringe show. In fact, this solid, well-performed [title of show] will easily please those outside the Fringe’s core audience. And what more could a good post-modernist ask for? Only another theatre person knows what any other theatre person really goes through trying to create a life in the theatre; the days of struggle, the nights of doubt, wondering if you'll be able to pay the rent, and wondering if you'll ever get that big break. [title of show] is the story of two musical theatre guys, Hunter (Travis Dixon) and Jeff (Christopher Maikish), who aren't anywhere close to making it but decide to write a musical about writing a musical, starring themselves and their two friends, Heidi (Heather Lake) and Susan (Julia Plostnieks). With a three week deadline to finish the work so they can submit it to the festival, they "start with the seed of an idea / then plant it onto paper / with a Dixon Ticonderoga (yeah, a fa... full review
