My overall impression
I have mixed feelings on Misshapen, mostly because I feel like the issue of Body Image/ I’m too fat/ I’m too thin/ I don’t feel right in my body is a bit tired, especially from the college student perspective. The various “variety acts” seem to drift all over the place and there’s what little through line there is seems to pretty forces.
That said – the final two minutes of this show are the most honest, most heartfelt, most genuine two minutes I’ve seen on stage at this year’s festival. And it’s for that reason this show deserves an audience.
