My overall impression

One Man Show: A Duet is a very funny idea well executed. Writers Joe DeSoto and TJ Marchbank have created a surreal world of right brain/left brain struggle that is so much fun to watch. The two halves (actors Mark Jacobson and TJ Marchbank) are perfect opposites and the complications that ensue are wonderful. Mark Jacobsen gives us the suit wearing, earnest side. He is trying to do his best, but he is thwarted at every turn by TJ Marchbank, who is laid back and just trying to get by. It is a joy ride from beginning to end.

Joe DeSoto’s direction is great. He creates a huge world in a very small space. He has the actors moving and dancing as they create the conflicted world of the One Man, in the title, who we only see in projections.

Go to laugh and have fun. It is great.
