There's something great about walking into a show and knowing NOTHING about it - and that's exactly what I did. One Man Show: A Duet is a smart, snappy hour of theatre with quick wit and a great premise. The chemistry between TJ Marchbank and Mark Jacobson is flawless, and they're complemented nicely by a crudely thrown together, poorly timed (on purpose?) slide show - not to mention some great sound effects. Oxymoron Masterpiece Theatre throws together a simple, effective and heartwarming show that's sure to get you laughing and having a good time. Great Job guys, Thanks for sharing it with me! ... full review

Definitely a Fringe must. One Man Show: A Duet was an amazing piece of theater. I'm a sucker for comedies that are cleverly self-aware, so I was on board from the opening announcements. I was thoroughly taken along for the ride of the story and by the fun taking place in the whole theater. The script, performances, staging and details were all spot on, doing justice to weaving a compelling and hilarious story. I had a blast, and I suspect you will too. On a fun side note, the joy and hilarity I resonatned from the show followed me into my sleep and that night - I actually woke up from a dream laughing :) #themagicoftheater... full review

I saw One Man Show: A Duet on it's Preview Night and had an absolute blast! Mark and TJ really know how to put on a show and I was so thankful that I got to experience this hilarious show. I really recommend buying your tickets in advance though, the show I attended was completely sold out. TJ and Mark are extremely talented, quick, smart, hilarious and definitely know how to entertain! I promise you won't regret this one hour of Fringey awesomeness! ... full review

One Man Show: A Duet is a very funny idea well executed. Writers Joe DeSoto and TJ Marchbank have created a surreal world of right brain/left brain struggle that is so much fun to watch. The two halves (actors Mark Jacobson and TJ Marchbank) are perfect opposites and the complications that ensue are wonderful. Mark Jacobsen gives us the suit wearing, earnest side. He is trying to do his best, but he is thwarted at every turn by TJ Marchbank, who is laid back and just trying to get by. It is a joy ride from beginning to end. Joe DeSoto's direction is great. He creates a huge world in a very small space. He has the actors moving and dancing as they create the conflicted world of the One Man, in the title, who we only see in projecti... full review

This is officially the first show I have been to as a part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival, and it was a wonderful introduction! The show kept me engaged and laughing the whole hour (fifty minutes?).The chemistry between Mark and TJ is the best part of the show, which is filled with hilarious moments- many of which had me wondering if they were scripted or improv, because except for one specific section, it was nearly impossible to tell. This show is "pay what you can", and is more than worth whatever you will probably end up giving (just sayin')- so unless you are a laughter-and-fun-hater, you have no excuse- go see it!... full review

One of the most enjoyable ways to spend an hour, One Man Show: A Duet is all at once charming, heartwarming, and hilarious. Actors Mark and TJ play expertly off one another while Joe Desoto's direction is wacky and engaging. Truly a must-see for theater and comedy fans!... full review

A high energy exploration of the life of a slacker named Tim through two actors playing his right and left brain. I laughed out loud the whole show from the fully committed zany performances of TJ Marchbank & Mark Jacobson and the clever writing of Joe DeSoto. TJ and Mark are so engaging and so in tune with the audience and each other that it's a real delight to watch them unfold this story.... full review

I've been impressed by Joe DeSoto's work as an actor, director and writer since I knew him at USC. This play is clever, biting and really, really entertaining. TJ and Mark gave stellar performances as different halves of the hero, "Tim." Having never seen TJ in anything before I was thoroughly impressed with his deadpan comedic ability and timing. Mark has blossomed into a fantastic, well-rounded character actor who I look forward to keeping up with in the future. Kudos!... full review

I found myself smiling from the moment the show began until it ended. The concept (a two man, one-man show was immediately hilarious to me) and execution were tremendous. This show is a perfect example of what a fringe show should be; people taking chances with "strange" ideas and going for it full throttle. It was such a positive experience and I would recommend the show to anyone.... full review
