“In North of Providence, Edward Allan Baker takes a painful domestic crisis and transforms it into a one act play of emotional depth and conviction. An exemplar of the one act art.”
—Mel Gussow, NY Times, 1985

North of Providence was first produced by New York’s Ensemble Studio Theatre in New York in 1985. Its themes of loss, pain, and redemption continue to resonate in this latest revival, produced for the Hollywood Fringe Festival nearly forty years later.

North of Providence details a painful crisis between brother and sister. As the ultimate loss of their father looms, Carol and Bobbie reluctantly come together in a darkened room as they comb the disarray of their lives to discover what’s torn them apart and finally, the truths that keep them together.

Throughout her time at Sarah Lawrence College and Prague Film School, Jennifer Gouchoe worked on upwards of 30 short films and fell in love with the chaotic energy of indie film sets. After graduating from Sarah Lawrence, she moved to LA to pursue her acting career. Since then she has produced and starred in three short films. Jennifer has a strong on-screen presence, a sharp sense of humor, and a New Yorker’s attitude (she only drinks black coffee and wants everyone to know it). She is currently in post-production for her latest short, I’m Not Like You, and is training at the Ivana Chubbuck Studio in Ivana’s masterclass.

Michael Nardelli is a graduate of USC School of Theater and Cinematic Arts. He studied with the Groundlings in LA. Michael made his professional acting debut in the independent film DERBY STALLION, opposite Zac Efron. He appeared in Sam Levinson’s (Euphoria) first film, ANOTHER HAPPY DAY, opposite Demi Moore and Thomas Haden Church, which won the Waldo Salt Award at the Sundance Film Festival. Michael produced and starred in the Netflix movie CIRCLE, which has gone on to have a cult following. He can be seen on the Amazon Prime series, Dark/Web and has recurred on various television shows including Revenge, Nashville, Hart of Dixie, and American Crime Story: The People VS OJ Simpson. Michael is an avid gamer, surfer, dog lover, and adrenaline junkie having bungee jumped in New Zealand, sky dived the California desert, and competed in Spartan and Tough Mudder races.

Aleksandar Popovic was born on October 6, 1984, in Belgrade. He is a Canadian actor who is best known for his role as Petar on the Starz series, Power. In 2019 he completed two pilots, one of which he wrote, directed and starred in along with a series of short films that he also wrote, directed and starred in.

The trio met at the Ivana Chubbuck Studio in LA, where Aleksandar is both a teacher and pupil. Jennifer and Michael began workshopping a scene from Providence earlier this Spring in Chubbuck’s master class; their passion and dedication to the material inspired the famed acting coach to urge them to expand their work and put up the show as a one act in the Hollywood Fringe Festival.
