REVIEW
Rehab! The Musical
by Natasha Spector · June 24, 2010
I am delighted that I came out to see Rehab. For the duration of the play I found myself transported to a dark yet slightly whimsical world, far far away from the everyday grind.
Kudos to the cast and crew of Rehab for creating an intoxicating world in which the audience can journey alongside unique and interesting characters.
I particularly found the lead Michelle to be truly captivating. My boyfriend and I found the portrayal of her character to be empathetic and compelling. Across the board acting was solid at least, and utterly mesmerizing at best – and most actors in Rehab fall into this last category. The characters who surfaced at destination Rehab itself were an eclectic – sometimes sad, sometimes comedic – who were a pleasure to watch.
I saw this play at The Theater of Note. I found the venue to have fairly shoddy acoustics which threatened to take away from the ambiance of the show. Luckily, the actors captured my imagination to an extent that prohibited the theater’s lacking acoustics to detract from the story.
I am glad to have taken a journey with these characters. I am excited to see Rehab again. I am grateful for the work of a cast and crew whose efforts seamlessly came together to create a fascinating world for the audience to explore. Bravo. Truly.
