American journalist and damaged war veteran Jake Barnes is living it up in the Latin quarter of 1920’s Paris amongst writers, artists and ex-patriates.

Jake believes he’s moved on from love but everything changes when his former nurse, the irresistible English Lady Brett Ashley, unexpectedly walks back into his life.

Their passion is reignited and Brett follows Jake to Pamplona for the Fiesta. Soon she will turn his world upside down with jealousy, betrayal and drunken chaos.

Jake has to come to terms with his fate: he will never grow old with the love of his life.

Developed in London with Kevin Spacey’s Old Vic Theatre through the New Voices scheme, THE SUN ALSO RISES is an unforgettable love story, adapted from the 1925 novel that secured Ernest Hemingway’s reputation as a literary genius.

THE SUN ALSO RISES will take audiences on an exciting, sensory ride into the mind of this great American author.

With a poignant love story at its heart and set between the jazzy bars of 1920s Paris and the earthy, clamourous streets of Spain, the play is an uplifting, exuberant and noisy experience in which the characters play out their hopes and dreams in high intensity dance, music and the ritual of bullfighting.
