This is a great narrative from a sophisticated... child-heart. In the edgy, cynical, jaded world of Hollywood's film or news promo voice-over Ratner's early life and childhood dreams are still with him. With delicious nostalgia and perfect emotional recall... in an ingratiating "once-upon-a-time" tone, he conveys the touching episodes of his development as a young person and an artist. Very satisfying... instructive... surprising... moving! don't miss it. ...

I am not my mama is a tour de force of love and lust for life.
Neecole takes you on her journey but still manages to hold you tight.
From the toddler making grown up choices to the young lady with a problem in Brooklyn. I am not my Mama is an AWESOME time at the theater....

Bill Ratner is a master: from the first moment, you know you can settle back; you are in good hands. It may be cliched to say I laughed, I cried-- but, well, I laughed, I cried. (OK, sue me.) He takes you on a trip through his life, and when he's done you're all the better for it. Go. (And besides, it's less than an hour!)...

Saw this at the Fringe Festival, and it really wasn't my thing. It felt very long and I think the performances were uneven in parts, especially from the male character. Its difficult to make an hour and a half long piece with only two characters in one setting interesting, and this failed to do that for me. This is just my opinion....

This show was awesome! I'm always scared I will get bored at plays, but in Tiger, I felt captivated the whole time. I loved the meta-ness and the sequencing, and the actors really brought amazing depth to the material. It moved me in an original way. I want to attend again!!...

WILLARD MANUS, Total Theater
Robert Litz's powerful one-act play, Cycles, was one of the finest things I've seen at the 2012 Hollywood Fringe. Set in a Boston Fitness Club, Cyclespits Jake (Alan Rosenberg) and Buzz (Dominic Rains) against each other in a swiftly unfolding battle not just for dominance but survival.
Jake and Buzz are obvious opposites: the former is an elderly, wisecracking Jew who hates exercise; the latter is a young, intense Italian who trains like a fanatic. But Litz dig...

As a veteran of 4 one woman shows and a director of countless of 'em, I figure I know what separates the women and men from the boys and girls. One person shows are not for sissies. They lay it all bare: your promise and your past, your persona and your soul.
It is immediately evident that Bill Ratner is not interested in hiding anything. He's baring it all, good and bad, sad and sweet and funny.
That milky and buoyant voice has you floating on a Ray Bradburian cloud of nostalgia, then plu...

For the last five years I've been watching Bill Ratner weave his tales across the LA storytelling scene and this show is not to be missed. Ratner's an exceptional storyteller and his voice alone is worth the price of admission. ...

THE PAINTER
"I just finished with her. I cut and cut and cut. I caressed her pale, amputated flesh in my hands. The stars hung like beads of polished silver from the drapery of washed ebony... Naughty, naughty boy, Jack."
