Cycles is a must. When you put two extremely talented actors on the stage with an amazingly complex and well written script , you expect "gold" and this powerful play delivers on all levels. Nothing is quite what it seems and this chance meeting of strangers leaves nothing to chance. Put this at the top of your list for this year's Fringe viewing. You won't be disappointed.

My partner and I added this play to our hit list after meeting the playwright at Fringe Central and I am so glad we did. We took a group of four and everybody agreed that the acting, writingn, directing, and fight scenes were amazing. Rise is the whole package...plus controversy enough to last through several after-dinner drinks. Our group was split down the middle on what the ending should have been, what we would have liked to see these characters do next, what really happened after the fin...

Beautifully acted, this play powerfully draws you into its drama, but I kept feeling like I was watching a modern rewrite of Albee's Zoo Story but instead of park bench, two strangers were trapped in a life-boat. ...

An enjoyable hour with a creative actress. It's a shame the costuming changes were so poorly handled and the over-all production values are so poor. the show deserves better. ...

I actually liked this play a lot. The story and characters drew you in and took you on an emotional journey that was over-all quite satisfying. The constant device of characters going out for a smoke was an element that became annoying after a bit as they were such an obvious "cue next scene" moments. But it's definitely worth the trip up the stairs at the Complex. ...

Wow...what a powerhouse performance by this cast of four and what a powerfully written play. Based on a true story, I only wish the play were longer and that there had been a second act as I really wanted to know what happened to all of the characters. Gripping, and very upsetting. Don't miss this play. It is so, so worth the journey. ...

Jan O'Connor hits the mark with one of the funniest plays in this year's fringe with "Gayby's Playdate." Both actors, Mandy Dunlap and Zuri Alexander, directed by Gabrieal Griecgo, were spot on, and the laughs were quick and spontaneous. If this were the only play that evening it would be worth the ticket price, but you also get three other fantastic works, "Another Few Good PBJ" by Jeromy Kehoe and Cailin Harrison's one man laugh-riot, " Whole Foods, " about a security guard at our favorite fo...

Fierce: LA Streets

Jan O'Connor brings the Fierceness of the Streets with the mezmerizing "The Pool of Gold in the Sky," starring the sensational Jeffrey Wylie, as a man, trapped in vacant lot at midnight with vagrants (Stephen Spiegel and Crystal Flores), who may or may not be Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary returning to earth for the second coming. The joy of her direction and her writing is that Jan O'Connor makes what at first seems absurd become somehow plausible and the audience has to decide for themselv...

Wow!!!! what a fun evening. Lyla is funny, poignant and everybody's favorite aunt living now in Hootersville hosting her own backyard talkshow to all the desperate people around Hootersville who need her sage advice. Most of it is hysterically funny. It's only when a young male caller threatens to end his life over bullying that the play takes a serious turn and shows Lyla for the cool lady she really is. Everybody Loves Lyla and so do I.
