I've been interested in this subject for a while, and in the people who have gotten involved and also gotten out, so this play was right up my alley and I was really excited to see it and I was definitely not disappointed. I loved the performance. What a really beautiful and talented woman, a good story teller and also included some song and dance - definitely a talented artist. I did find it a little sad, even teared up when she was telling about saying goodbye to her dad, but overall I foun...

I was up for a little comedy after a couple of performances earlier in the day that made me cry so I was expecting this to be your typical giggle about relationships (we've all had them), a nice distraction, and a mindless way to end my day before I headed back to the valley. Boy was I surprised . . . Nicole Burch is definitely someone to watch. She’s talented, beautiful, and really funny. When I saw the program I wondered how in the world she was going to get five pages of cast members into o...

One of the best kept secrets (or maybe not so secret) in the San Fernando Valley, Whitefire Theatre and The Shorts series. It never fails to entertain and surprise and I never fail to see them. I have a friend who performs and I always love to see her, but even if she wasn't there, these little playlets are a must see that I wouldn't miss. So glad to see them make a Fringe appearance and give the rest of Loss Angeles a chance to enjoy their clever plays and talented performers. ...

I came to the Fringe to be entertained, I had no idea I'd walk away inspired too. I consider myself a "Fringer" - I pick a bunch of shows that sound good, figure out a very tight schedule, and theater hop all day long for a couple of weekends. This past Saturday I started at 10:30 and by 4:30 I was done, but since I had good parking and saw a couple productions in the program that sounded interesting and were nearby, I walked down to The Collective Theater, to see if they had any more tickets. ...

I had hoped to see this play during the Fringe Festival but just kept coming up short on time so was so excited when I heard it was extended and rushed right out and got a ticket (3 tickets actually, I brought friends and told them it should be hysterical - how could it not, the title alone said it all to me). I sat myself in a seat on Sunday, July 22 expecting a one-woman comedy performance. Don't ask me why, I guess I never read the other reviews or properly read the synopsis but when I saw t...

I walked out of Nostalgium saying only one word..."Twisted." My friend and I discussed it on the way home, I told three people about it the next day at work, and I was still describing it to friends this past weekend (both Saturday and Sunday)...Obviously this is a very twisted and yet thought-provoking play and I'm STILL thinking about it. Had I not just seen an episode of National Geographic Channel's "Taboo" about body dysmorphia I would have thought this a complete work of fiction, but know...

I started hearing the buzz about Tape during the opening weekend of Fringe and was looking forward to seeing it, but every time I tried, I kept finding it was sold out and I wasn’t able to get a ticket. Obviously, others had been hearing the buzz and getting in line first. I was finally lucky enough to see it on June 18, and am really glad I did. The buzz is definitely well deserved. This is a fast paced and exciting production and just twisted enough to keep you on the edge of your seat and ...

It’s happened to me twice now this year ... I have something else I'm seeing and a little time to kill before it starts and nothing else to do while I wait. So I find another performance nearby and just figure I'll check it out while I wait for my REAL play to begin ... and then I fall in love. I loved this play and the characters. The story was very moving and memorable (especially sad knowing it was based on a true story – but so often those are the best stories, this being no exception - an...

A fun ride with an intersting story teller. To tell you the truth, this man is so talented that I would have been happy if it was just his singing and guitar playing we'd come to see, but we were treated to so much more. So glad I made the time to come out and see Chad's show. ...

I can always tell how I feel about a show when I find myself retelling it to someone else. If I didn't care for it, I tend to push it out of my mind and move one. If I love it, I can't stop talking about it. This morning I found myself telling David's story to my son on the phone - for no particular reason, just that I'd seen the most interesting show this past weekend and had to tell him about it. I think he's already the third person this week who has heard me retelling David's tragic and ye...
