Jesus Ride does indeed live up to the hype it's getting! It's a fun 80 minutes of laughs performed by the talented Mike Schlitt. Schlitt nicely combines multi-media movie clips with his own story making you feel like you are definitely living this experience with him. ... full review

#Hashtag

#Hashtag is the perfect Fringe show, created in part by the cast for the Fringe it truly embodies the spirit of taking chances, developing new work and trying it out. Combine that with an entertaining premise and you have an entertaining hour of theater. I'd love to see them continue development on this piece. I think the story lines could be expanded and the concept of using social media during the show could be increased. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with this work and bring to th... full review

The Viola Mountain Door Company

Viola Mountain Door Company is one of HFF13's hidden gems. Greg Abbot effortlessly weaves a story involving multiple characters. My fear with these type of shows is that storytellers are not often able to make the audience truly embrace each different character. Abbot takes on different physical characters as well as speech mannerisms, making it very easy to believe he is those characters and not just someone acting like those characters. A very sweet one hour production that is beautifully writt... full review

Rodeo Town

This is truly a gem of the 2013 festival. Rodeo Town is one of those plays that stays with you after you leave the theater. This cast works together as a beautiful ensemble to take the audience on a ride full of unexpected dark turns. Eric Cire gives an incredible performance as Garth and is the driving force that keeps the story moving. Riveting and thought provoking this is definitely a show worth catching this year!... full review

Four Clowns presents Me Rich You Learn

This show is 100% fun. It is physical comedy at it's best! Smartly written, perfectly executed this is a fast paced, full of laughs hour you don't want to miss! Me Rich You Learn is definitely a break in tradition for Four Clowns but it is a delightful break, they have certainly found magic with this one!... full review

Daddy

This show does an excellent job of balancing dark issues with a bit of comedy. The cast is spot on in their moments of lightheartedness. Led by powerhouse lead Bethy Poluikis this cast plays their roles as members of an estranged family with such believability that you can see elements of all families in them. The set changes and tech elements still need a bit of work and they could easily shave 5-6 minutes from the show by simplifying set changes. While this is a compelling idea for a play, the ... full review

Lost Moon is always a fun experience and their episode of Roger Wodehouse is no exception. Cleverly written and performed this is a smart and fun production. I did miss the regular Lost Moon format and hope they bring that back in the future but seeing the expanded story of Roger was definitely a treat! Get your tickets now for the last performances. These guys always sell out!... full review

The Show

The cast clearly was having a good time with this. While this type of free association writing script is not something that I necessarily enjoy it was entertaining and the sound effects and multiple characters played by the 5 member cast were fantastic. I felt that the script was a mash up of 2 incomplete scripts. I would have liked to see it stick to one plot line. Their strength as an ensemble and company is definitely in radio plays. I'm looking forward to seeing what else they do in the futur... full review

Experiment

This short 20 minute play is definitely not for everyone. Actors, Alexa Giuffre and Sean Brugos fully commit to their roles as tortured prisoners and both give great performances. The play itself gives little exposition and very little time to develop any sort of relationship with the characters. I'm still trying to figure out what the intended message of the play is, why was it written, why are we watching it, why are we supposed to care about these characters? I spent most of the short show exp... full review

Sewer Rats at Sea

erin moore · June 17, 2013 uncertified reviewer
Sewer Rats at Sea is a great first play by ZK Lowenfels. Actors Lauren Marie, Mike Rosenbaum and Cameron Miller handle the back and forth dialogue with ease. This play is full of back and forth banter and the pacing is quick. At times it feels a bit like a Steven Dietz play, each sentence said quickly and with several meaning behind it. Director Aaron Lyons does a great job of keeping the play moving and not letting the actors get too bogged down in each scene. A pretty but simple set and a subtl... full review
