Maud // The Madness

Really excellent, Maud // The Madness very successfully adapts Tennyson's poem for the stage and delivers a very powerful performance. Reed Michael Campbell is amazing at taking the challenging text, finding the subtle nuances within it, and heightening the words to give them a very epic and profound quality. The direction was very smooth and cohesive, the set was rather gorgeous and used very effectively, further creating a sense of isolation that the character is haunted by. I really recommend ... full review

Treason

I think there are some really interesting concepts explored in Treason. The characters are specific and very clear in their wants, and the conflict that results is engaging. I do wish that the concept went a little further, was edgier, and got even darker, but that's just my personal tastes. ... full review

I'm a huge John Lennon fan and so it was really rewarding to see a play that clearly demonstrated the love for this fascinating figure. The historical accuracy was on point, and the actors really captured the true essences of the real-life characters they were portraying. This play offers a really unique and fascinating portrayal of a very special man in one of his most interesting periods of life. ... full review

EPIC FAIL

Epic Fail transcends so many expected conventions of Theatre and takes off into an incredibly unique and riveting performance. Jordan Rountree has incredible stage presence, he is daring, bold, and does exactly what he wants to on that stage. Epic Fail is one of those shows where you leave the theatre feeling so satisfied knowing that the artists involved were able to live out their artistic vision with no restriction, which is one reason I absolutely love the Fringe, it allows and encourages the... full review

American Conspiracy

American Conspiracy is absolutely awesome, this thrilling play takes you through so many ups and downs, it's an experience that you will certainly remember. Ben Schwartz's writing is incredibly nuanced, clever, witty, thought-provoking, intense, and innovative, his dialogue allows for the characters to explore the deepest parts of themselves and unleash the inner beasts that reside inside them. Aiding the writing is Matt Ritchey's superb direction, which pushes the already high stakes in the play... full review

I am very appreciative of this play for it's unique and bold approach in exploring mental illness. There are a lot of creative aspects and gems that are very evident in the piece, and I think that you will leave the play having become more conscious of the mental health issues that our society faces. The actors do a really good job portraying and honoring the struggles that their characters face, and the writing approaches the characters struggles from a humanistic and empathetic approach. Gun and a Motel Bible

This show was fucking awesome, it's the gritty, intense, high stakes type of play that I've been craving. The show starts on a high note and never comes down, you can feel the weight of the world on the shoulders for their characters as they desperately try to convince both each other and themselves that they are right, knowing that the determination of who is right can very well be the difference between life and death. The acting is superb, both actors fill their roles with such passion and ene... full review

Ain't That America

I really enjoyed Ain't That America, and in addition to being entertaining, it was thought-provoking and poignant. I think it's incredibly important to understand the psychology of perspectives that are different than your own, so being a hardcore progressive liberal, I really appreciated getting to see and better understand the perspective of radical, hate-mongering pockets of the right. The acting is excellent, both actors really commit to their roles, despite all of the consistently heinous st... full review

The Rental

There were some great moments in The Rental. Some interesting turns and choices occurred that I didn't predict, and the play explores an interesting topic. The acting was really good, and the dialogue is well crafted to allow the actors to really dig into their unique perspectives. I would have liked to have seen the stakes being raised and the character's objectives being slightly stronger, but overall this was an enjoyable play. ... full review
