Really excellent, Maud // The Madness very successfully adapts Tennyson's poem for the stage and delivers a very powerful performance. Reed Michael Campbell is amazing at taking the challenging text, finding the subtle nuances within it, and heightening the words to give them a very epic and profound quality. I think there are some really interesting concepts explored in Treason. The characters are specific and very clear in their wants, and the conflict that results is engaging. I'm a huge John Lennon fan and so it was really rewarding to see a play that clearly demonstrated the love for this fascinating figure. Epic Fail transcends so many expected conventions of Theatre and takes off into an incredibly unique and riveting performance. American Conspiracy is absolutely awesome, this thrilling play takes you through so many ups and downs, it's an experience that you will certainly remember. Ben Schwartz's writing is incredibly nuanced, clever, witty, thought-provoking, intense, and innovative, his dialogue allows for the characters to explore the deepest parts of themselves and unleash the inner beasts that reside inside them. I am very appreciative of this play for it's unique and bold approach in exploring mental illness. There are a lot of creative aspects and gems that are very evident in the piece, and I think that you will leave the play having become more conscious of the mental health issues that our society faces. I really enjoyed Ain't That America, and in addition to being entertaining, it was thought-provoking and poignant. Scherzo Theatre Company does it again with an incredibly entertaining production that effectively showcases their dedication and mastery of physical comedy. There were some great moments in The Rental. Some interesting turns and choices occurred that I didn't predict, and the play explores an interesting topic. The acting was really good, and the dialogue is well crafted to allow the actors to really dig into their unique perspectives.
