Saving Cain

Just incredible! Truly breathtaking from start to finish! When you attend shows at Fringe, you don't always assume you're gonna see something that is main stage material. And by that, I mean this is a show that I would see outside of Fringe as a mainstage show for any theater company. The writing is just lovely. Kozak creates such deep and wonderful characters, that you feel for each of them. He gives you the levels right there in the writing. And then the actors take hold and you are just... full review

FERTILE.

What a beautiful show! From the first moment Heather embodies her first two of several characters, you are transported into this amazing world. Her performance is nothing short of incredible. This piece is so simple in its story, yet so relevant, poignant, and lovely that you find yourself laughing and crying. Heather does such a wonderful job at covering so much ground in this piece that she allows the audience to see all sides of the story and understand why it is so difficult for women, and... full review

Hard to believe that this is Bisschop's first solo-show! This show, which I saw twice, is pretty freakin' amaze-balls! From the opening montage to the closing epilogue, this show doesn't stop making you laugh. For anyone that grew up in the 80's watching TV, this show is especially hilarious! Besides all that, Bisschop has created a very interesting character in a bizarre world. His all-seeing Eye is truly one of the best creations I've seen on stage and the sheer fact that he brings the D... full review

Wow! What an achievement! This show brings you in from the opening speech, given by one of the actors in character! From the first 5min you have an idea of what you're about to see. 15min later you are on the edge of your seat and stay that way until the curtain falls! The work that Schwartz and Ritchey do with this material is incredible. They have brought to Fringe a story that is so connected with who we are as a society and where we've come. It's just breathtaking to watch everyone on... full review

Jane Austen's Emma Frankenstein

Holy S***! Not what I was expecting. AT ALL! And that's a very good thing. I'm a huge Shelley fan and was so pumped to see this production. What I didn't expect was a brilliant, laugh-out-loud, fall out of your seat musical about Austen and Shelley going at it over their works! The choice of songs in this musical really make it work. And to say the performances weren't killer would be an understatement! I loved how they fashioned this story and used Austen as the storyteller. It was perf... full review

The Book That I'm Going to Write, By Judy Garland

Truly lovely! This play gives us such a unique view of Judy Garland that I don't think anyone in the audience is expecting. Right from the start, as Powell takes the stage, you get an idea of what you're about to see. The fact that Jason Powell doesn't dress in drag or try to impersonate Garland is the true beauty of this play! He embodies her so well that you become immediately tuned in to her dialogue and feel so much for her. Powell has put together one of the best solo shows I've seen in... full review

What a great story! The fact that this is based on actual events really gets you going. Robinson has put together a very solid script that gives all the actors a lot to work with in building their characters. The acting is solid in this piece! Each one of the people on stage brings such depth to their characters that you really do sit in and listen. I would have loved to know a bit more about Fletcher as he is a little disconnected until we reach the third act, but other than that, I thoroughl... full review

Laertes Loves Hamlet Loves Ophelia

Walking into this show, I was fairly excited. As a "Hamlet" fan I couldn't wait to see this story come to life. It was brilliant! All three actors brought their respective characters to such depth it was just a joy to watch! The script played with the already existing play and added such fun that you couldn't help but want more when the curtain came down. This made me want to go back and re-read "Hamlet" and look for all the connections between Laertes and Hamlet, and see how the ending of t... full review

A FAMILIAR AUDIENCE -the Best of INK @Fringe!

Two shows that go well with each other. Stand-out performances all around. Truly a must see of the Fringe this year. In the first piece, Julia Sanford gives us a very sweet sadness as she packs up her house that she's having trouble saying good-bye to. The relationship between her and her daughter are very solid. In the second piece, "This Almost Joy," Carl Weintraub takes the lead and delivers one hell of a performance as he commands the audience from his first line. All three supporting ac... full review
