Why We Become Witches

Oh my, what a delightful little show! In a gentle, patient monologue, the show builds a complete picture of a woman who has made the best of circumstances in which she was thrown, despite the fact that it was contrary to her own dreams and desires. When she finally (spoiler!) finds a way to carve out for herself the life she always wanted, we are thrilled and tickled for her. ... full review

It was terrific. The decision to cast the male roles with women gave the play just the touch of absurdity it needed for us to enthusiastically jump on this ride. The women's performances were terrific! The alternate history was so well-crafted, I heard someone commenting as I left the theater that she didn't realize that's how it happened! :) The pacing is tight, the jokes well-delivered, the story silly and raucous. This is a solid play, and should have a life outside its limited run at the Fri... full review

SEE THIS SHOW! It's a terrific, personal, raw, funny and touching investigation of the labels people use to divide ourselves from others. Katrina is incredibly engaging, and she keeps you laughing while she shows you her wounds. This is important, political work, but it in no way feels ponderous. ... full review

This high-energy, irreverent, darkly-comedic piece is physical comedy at its best. It takes the patriarchy, police violence, sexual assault and even a bit of the current presidential race to their limits, showing them at their grotesque best. Not for the faint-of-heart, but for those with a touch of the ruthless in their humor, this show is a four course meal. ... full review

Dissecting Tendencies

A lovely, earnest, stream-of-consciousness meditation on life and how to find your path through it. Through direct audience address, and more traditional scenework, these two women show us their hopes and fears and dreams. By the end of the show, you are pulling for them, and very much wishing for their success as they navigate their lives.... full review

A tour-de-force performance by Bella Merlin! A terrific historical character is brought to life in all her bawdy, poignant, mischievous vibrancy. Her affection for Nell shines through, and you cannot help falling in love with her. Highly recommended.... full review

Smile, Baby is a terrific show. Funny and biting by turns, it provided me with both nod-along moments and outrageous laughter. The fashion show alone was a moment of brilliance. Very well done - a must-see!... full review
