The Devil You Say

abby schachner · June 11, 2015 certified reviewer
i found her puppets mesmerizing... and the devil's ruby eyes, boney fingers and lanky body were quite alluring from my front row seat. watching this piece kind of made me wish i could see robin and all her loveliness talk (she's hidden, nor does she speak), but apparently, that may be in the works for her next show which excites me. All in all, if you're into puppetry and seeing a master craftsman at work, you know where the devil is. ... full review

NELL GWYNNE: A DRAMATICK ESSAYE ON ACTING AND PROSTITUTION

abby schachner · June 09, 2015 uncertified reviewer
what can i say about bella? i thought she was a delight, a sprite, and her show will make you interested in history! plus, she makes a great looking wench/actress... and... a PRINCE! personally, i could watch about three of these at the same time with varying times and centuries and call it a day! She's got this form down, and I can only imagine the other worlds she has created. All in all, the direction was excellent (the plague part... pulease!), the show was tight, the set, cozy and elaborate,... full review

MY GAY HUSBAND

i love a lot about this show, but I'm not gonna lie... I want to see the choreographed opening theme song number!!! you have such a big cast, and it's ripe with opportunities. two, I want you to turn up the gay on the set a notch! Love the beds, love the oven mitt, but I want more GAY! say even a tablecloth, perhaps? Some of the acting was top notch, I'm a total fan of the writing (the apron switch n' stuff... really smart), and I love the idea of a new dick for each show... but... Iet's not mak... full review

That Shitty Sweater

this show was like a warm fuzzy. i felt like i was in good hands right off the bat with totally adept performers who know their style and do their 'thing', and together, they really complimented each other. for me, it really was a great show to start off the fringe. ... full review

a veteran performer with a lot to say, richard charms and makes you feel like you're part of his inner circle. honestly, he makes one liners look easy (and they're hhhhhard!). A delightful dude with charisma, passion for his craft, with a healthy dose of neuroses... you can't help but fall for richard. And you leave knowing, whatever role he gets, he's gonna make the most of it.... full review

Darlene: Four Feet From Crazy

abby schachner · June 28, 2014 uncertified reviewer
what a sweet, sincere character. it was so refreshing to see a man, portraying a woman, and not being just one joke. darlene is sweet, has a lot to say, and the comedy is smart... different. i was taken by her. I'm definitely glad i showed up. slow, smart comedy... charming, delightful, and fun. great details in the text, too. next time, darlene gets a set... and props... or put her on a kid's show and let's just listen to her lessons. regardless, i'd like to see Darlene in some more situa... full review

The Werewolves of Hollywood Blvd: A Damnable Rock Musical

when I saw this show, I wasn't sure how to write a review, but I am an Orgasmico fan. I saw excorcistic twice last year, and got really into the movie after. I had a great time at werewolves, and so did my fellah friend, and this show will only get tighter and grow. Despite the sound issues when I saw it or the occasional clunks, I don't care. Next go around, I'll be in the audience bopping my head and howling at the moon after. (or more likely, I'll singing one of the songs!) (then howling)... full review

talk about commitment... acting... writing... the whole shebang! this show was great! everything I've seen has been great, but this show... and this ben, fellah, exceptional. The rhythms and the heightening... the twists... I loved it. Now I just want to see his other show. The Real Deal.... full review

Jesus H: A Solo Play for the Zealot in all of Us

Mariah is a natural beauty, talented, smart, funny, and we take this ride with her across the country that strikes a chord. she doesn't need bells and whistles, doesn't need wigs, she just transforms and takes us on a ride through her experience with religion prompted by her seat-mate. It was deep, funny, touching... she's great with characters, great with worlds... and I love in the end how much it meant when she went to jerusalem. her beautiful family. her husband. the women on the plane. ... full review

loved it! loved Daliya! A natural performer! wonderful metaphors, funny as hell. the word delightful really does apply to her and this show, but like someone else said, there was something deeper, and I loved that, too. And those peanut butter treats... god! I gotta make the recipe! Not sure if she's always saddled up with Jesus H, but it was a lovely evening all around! I want more funny/deep cooking shows with Daliya!... full review
