Oh Alex Knox, what is it like to be one of "those" people? He tells us he was "awkward" and "shy" in high school but I can't help but think he was still the Homecoming King. Charming, handsome and talented, Knox's writing is clear, funny and heart-felt. His acting is smart, entertaining, and filled with technique. Becca's directing is clear and simple. I checked "loved it" because I love the script - it is lyrical, poetic, visceral and smart. Kudos to Ms. Mulcahy for picking such a brave script and for putting her work out there while she is still in undergraduate school! Awesome! I am interested to see her work 5 years down the road. HOT CAT

HOT CAT is special. Blair Chandler is AMAZING, like, WOAH! Sooooooo stellar! The beauty and acrobatic nature of David Guerra's physical work perfectly communicates Brick's internal struggle. The choreography is inventive, specific and the directing is exquisite. The themes explored are timely and thought-provoking. The script could stand to lose 10 minutes of text to better streamline the throughline. A "must see" at the fringe this year! ... full review

Obviously Michael

OBVIOUSLY MICHAEL is ultimately a solid children's show. Since I spend quite a bit of time around children I laughed out loud many times - including the reference to Ponypuppies, or as I often hear them called on the playground, "pupihorses". The text has interesting themes: the power of imagination and our need to label. I particularly enjoyed the performances of Zach Brown and Katie Lyman - they were very specific, grounded and full of energy. Since I am a director myself, I have strong opinion... full review
