I Wish My Life Was An RPG

A very personal but universal story of finding one's own voice through the process of seeking acceptance from others. Ashphord Jacoway is creative, courageous and captivating as she performs all of the characters herself through narrative, movement and spoken word. A non-gamer myself, I still found this piece easy to relate to. At the end of her rehearsed piece, Ashphord opened a dialogue with the audience to discuss what they saw, how they felt and what was on their mind. A unique way to spe... full review

A MUST SEE - great premise, cleverly written, superbly acted and enjoyable to watch. Never before have I seen so much life breathed into a bare stage. TJ Marchbank & Mark Jacobson are a talented duo full of range & energy. Everyone should check out this play and since all of their performances are "pay what you can", there is no reason not to.... full review

As someone familiar with the phrase "write what you know", I was blown away by Dan's ability to create such clearly defined and "true to life" voices for so many different character types: a woman grieving her father's passing the day before she is set to walk down the aisle, her mother-a new widow, a group of older gay men trying to find their groove amongst the younger crowd, a pair of "set in their way" 70 somethings working through conversation while on a blind date, and a recently divorced c... full review

I find the premise intriguing. There were a few questions raised that I would have liked answered. I think with a little flushing out, this could be a good script. The director's use of projection on to the minimal set was effective. I would have liked more differentiation in the volume used in the discussions between the characters onstage & their encouragement to the unseen characters offstage. But all in all, the production was enjoyable & worth watching.... full review

Hats off to the cast for their unwavering commitment to these intense characters. The actors are the true highlight of this piece. Set in a nondescript room periodically surrounded by the alarming sound of high-voltage electricity, you soon deduct that these P.O.W.s are in for trouble. Unfortunately, the script did not have the substance to get me to care enough about either of them for the ending to prove effective. Regardless, these actors deserve an audience for the heart & soul they pou... full review

This show was written by the cast/crew through a series of discussions & improvisation. The result is a smart, funny, current & relatable story revolving around a man who dreams of becoming Hollywood's next "big thing" and the trials/tribulations he encounters along his path to stardom. The witty dialogue was well executed by the impressive & energetic cast. Many moments rang true to situations I, myself, have experienced first-hand. If you have a cell phone, Facebook account, Twitter pag... full review

Philosophy in the Boudoir

As their disclaimer states, this show is definitely not recommended for anyone easily offended by language, nudity, or sex. In addition to their disclaimer, the director made a pre-show announcement giving the audience permission to get up and leave at ANY point during the show, should the content become too much to handle. As someone who is comfortable with all of the aforementioned, I was excited to be one of the first Fringers to witness this critically acclaimed show. However, I left fe... full review
