Psychodelicate's Magical Playtime

I loved the message of the show. I loved the focus of us being interconnected, the healing message I felt and reminding us that we are better together than divided. There was so much love being given out and the performer's heart stayed open and full. I want them to have the chance at another Encore show. ... full review

Star has this ability to bring you into her entire world with a vulnerability that is not so easy for one to allow the self to reveal. Her eyes tell a lifetime of stories and you can see her truly see her behind them during the show. I was captivated by her honesty, her naturalness onstage. I can’t wait to see Star in more plays as she is the kind of actress we need in the theatre!... full review

Still Life of an Orange and Other Puppet Parables

I truly enjoyed Still Life Of An Orange. It was Avant-Garde, abstract, ingenious and quite original from the normal fare of soli shows. It was unique and relevant to the times in which we are existing. I thought it a profound piece of theatre that took a look at huge issues such as eviction, the housing industry, the environment and the questioning of ones existence. I would love for this work to be seen with more time. Yet it can be hard for audiences to break away from the obvious and experien... full review

Katt is fearless! When she enters the stage it reminds me of an old old acting teacher I had in school, “Your entrances and exits are the most important in the theatre!” Katt nails the entire show and holds the audiences engagement which is often hard to do in solo shows. There is an energy that lives within her and makes her a force to reckon with onstage. The music was also exciting and worked with the work. I can’t wait to see what Katt does next!!... full review

"The Parisian Dream"

What a fun fun show from a very talented group of performers! It was an ole fashioned cabaret featuring the can-can, which one never ever sees anymore. I loved the silent film era feeling from the wonderful chap who was detailed and specific onstage with no words! It reminded of Buster Keaton and that was a lovely surprise. What a gift to fringevthis year in a beautiful venue. More shows-more performances! ... full review

The Goddesses Guide: Adura for the Women of African Diaspora

Fantastic work. My heart was filled with such joy as I watched the beautiful actresses onstage. A true representation of the many looks of black women. The play is powerful as that it lives in two worlds connecting us to Africa and the plight African -Americans face today. Not an easy feat but Camille accomplished cross generational story telling! ... full review

With My Eyes Shut

I loved the fact that the play brought autism to the forefront. The story was natural while the actors gave detailed performances. Yet it wasn’t about them being autistic but human. Esther has a wonderful stage presence. I look forward to seeing what she does next.... full review

The story of black women and their hair is sacred. It was a wonderful surprise to walk into the theatre and realize this was going to be a journey onstage one does not see. I loved having the Haitian Black Women perspective on coming to love and relish in our natural hair. It can be hard to break colonial ways of thinking and brainwashing and Ella sheds it all onstage. The more black women see our similarities the more powerful we are as a collective. Ella touched on old truths, history, cultural... full review

Butoh Medea

This is the work. To take Euripides age old classic and remind us that the story of Medea will never die. It lives because Yokko gave her body, gave her heart all to the work. To hear Medea speak from Yokko’s mouth took me to a space I did not expect. I believed she was an outsider, onstage alone. I saw her torment and love within the choreography that the monologue was an extra revelation. The power of stillness is real and hard to manifest onstage with poignancy. Yokko gives us a masterclass on... full review

Charlotte's World or The Lone Terrarium

There is something special about walking into a tiny theatre knowing you are about to see a new work created in the DIY style.  This is how theatre magic manifests, in simple sets, props created by the actor, a body willing to walk into the unknown-on a non predictable physical journey is thrilling. This is what Fiona gives to her work, gives to her audience.  All of herself. All of her fears. All of her excitement. The way her right hand shakes in a moment reveals we are seeing an indescribable ... full review
