Funny as Hell! And silly as shite. And it's all worth hustling down to Open Fist Theatre to see, because Exoricistic: The Rock Musical Parody Experiment more than lives up to its name. I loved it because while they writer Michael Shaw Fisher and director Pat Towne and the entire company is respectful of the source material (the book and film), they have such fun going to town blowing the whole thing up -- I couldn't help but laugh and smile. So silly and funny and a rocking good time. Great premise, well executed by deeply talented cast and great rock combo. Funny lyrics, and nicely sketched out characters where they are ALL wacko, but no character is portrayed in a mean-spirited way. This, I think, is a big key to the enjoyment of the show. From the opening/preshow to the rousing reprise of the 'Fire' song, I was so glad to be in the theatre. And, really, there's no reason why this show can't play beyond its Doomsday date. There is so much to get excited about in Lost Moon Radio Episode 12: The music/lyrics are delightful -- this includes various genres, all nicely done by the killer cast and knockout band.
