RUE ROYALE Plays 2012 Hollywood Fringe Festival June 09, 17, 19, 23, 24 | 90 mins.

What if the road that will break you is the one you must take?

Hollywood, CA. May 15, 2012. Woodhaven Productions will present ‘Rue Royale’, a play about a recent college grad, who returns home to New Orleans following news of her father’s terminal illness, as part of the 10-day Los Angeles Fringe Festival, June 14 through 24, 2012.

‘RUE ROYALE’ – Sophie, a recent college grad, moves in with her best friend in the notorious French Quarter, and quickly finds herself spiraling in a storm of drugs, sex, violence and deception. In order to survive, she must find her way toward the most painful decision of her life.

Rue Royale made its first appearance in September 2010 at the Ventura Court Theatre in Studio City. It makes its world premiere with a new cast at Hollywood Fringe ’12, with Serino reprising the role of Sophie. She is currently at work on the film adaptation.

The Hollywood Fringe Festival is an annual celebration of the emerging arts.

Environments for the Fringe include both traditional and unorthodox venues; fully equipped theatres, street corners, clubs, bars, and places unexpected. Performances are self-produced by local, national, and international arts companies and independent performers. In the spirit of most Fringes, participation is open and uncensored.

Hollywood is home to dozens of Los Angeles’ premiere theatres and clubs, making it the perfect spot for the festival. The neighborhood has always been a source of unapologetic opinion, underground mentality, and a deep passion for the cutting-edge. The Hollywood Fringe is an immersive festival worthy of the neighborhood’s reputation.

The Festival takes place June 14 – June 24, 2012.
