POOR MAN THEATRE COMPANY and LUMPY-CRAMP© PRODUCTIONS, PRESENTS

Ishmaeal at the Hollywood Fringe Festival
Hollywood, CA (June, 2012,) Lumpy-Cramp© Productions presents, Ishmaeal, an adaptation of one of America’s greatest novels, Moby Dick, written by Herman Melville., June (PRESS PREVIEW) 10th, 17th, and 23rd at the Tre Stage, 1523 N. LaBrea, second floor, Studio 208, at 9:30 pm, tickets are $15, June 18th, at 6 pm $10, June 20th at 10pm $15, and June 23rd, at 6pm $15 at the Art Works Theatre Studio A, 6569 Santa Monica Blvd., Hollywood CA, 90038.

Ishmaeal explores the themes of lust, hunger, greed, and madness as Capt. Ahab and his crew on the esteemed whaling vessel, the Pequod, hunt for the white whale that dismembered Ahab’s leg and made him a “peg”. Ishmaeal then takes a drastic theatrical turn as it fast forwards to the 21st century to explore the parallel between Ahab’s lust for the white whale, and America’s lust for foreign oil. Also exploring modern American policies as it deals with the rising cost of foreign oil, Ishmaeal will attempt to answer the question: “Can the whaling industry be used to generate an alternative fuel source once again?”
