Los Angeles, CA – Lonesome No More! Theatre presents Frank Wedekind’s Spring Awakening, as translated by Jonathan Franzen, at the 2nd annual Hollywood Fringe Festival. Spring Awakening has six performances, including a designated press preview, throughout the duration of the Hollywood Fringe Festival at The Complex Hollywood’s Ruby Theatre.
Spring Awakening is a coming-of-age story tracing seven students as they navigate the struggles of youth triggered by the pressure of their homework, the complexities of their looming adulthood, and the unsettling development of newfound desires for love and sex. Their earnest questions are ignored and dodged by their anxious parents, and the young people are left to their own devices to draw the distinctions between right and wrong, what they are supposed to do, and what they want to do.
Lonesome No More! Theatre, founded in January 2011 by Dana Murphy, Patrick Riley, and Meghan McCauley, is an assembled company of creative producers and performers. Spring Awakening for the Hollywood Fringe Festival is their debut production. The production, created in collaboration between the directors and the performers, explores the entire theatrical space and utilizes extensive mask work. Performances are 80 minutes long with no intermission.
