DARING NEW THEATER COMPANY DEBUTS AT HOLLYWOOD FRINGE

Rheeta In Space

view project

Hollywood, California – May 3, 2011 – Assembly Line Theater presents “Rheeta in Space” at the 2011 Hollywood Fringe Festival. “Rheeta in Space” is about a 764 year old teenager who lives on Planet Zar with her insane parents and best friends, Gay Cow and Robot Bob. Rheeta desperately wants to leave home and explore the universe. An absurd exploration of what it is to be human, “Rheeta in Space” speaks to the adventurer in us all.

This panoply of quirky dialogue, original music, dance and video projections was written by and features Lynde Houck as “Rheeta”. In the words of the play’s author, “In order to entice a wider audience to experience live theater, the play’s conversation is interspersed with dancing and visual arts against a backdrop of vibrant, original music. Modern theatre should keep up with the tempo of our contemporary lives.”

Assembly Line Theater is dedicated to analyzing life through risky works where nothing is sacred or off limits. Assembly Line’s talented troupe, directed by Kara M. Tyler, will bring zany spectacle to LA’s theatre scene.

“Rheeta in Space” will launch at the Open Fist Theater, 6209 Santa Monica Blvd., June 11 at 8 pm; with shows June 19 @ 2 pm; June 16, 22, 25 @8pm.
