A REASONABLE FEAR OF TUBAS LAUNCHES HOLLYWOOD FRINGE FESTIVAL PREMIERE

HOLLYWOOD, CA – A Reasonable Fear of Tubas, a funny and often poignant one-person show written and performed by Stacy Patterson, makes its Hollywood Fringe Festival Premiere on Thursday, March 31 and runs for five additional shows through Sunday, June 24 at The Actors Company, Let Live Theater. Under the direction of Christian Davis, the one-hour solo performance explores fears, fish and human alike.

About A Reasonable Fear of Tubas
In the summer of 1975, the first-ever blockbuster movie hit theaters, leaving everyone, especially the narrator of this piece with all-too-vivid memories of a non-working mechanical fish. Before this, there was a childhood of imagination. And, if there’s to be life afterward, this human must face what scares her most, including people who may be more shark-like than anything found in the water. Phobia may be unreasonable, but in this case, it can also be funny, too. After all, we’re all afraid of something, right?

Production Team and Cast
Playwright Stacy Patterson, is also a producer and storyteller originally from The Land of Enchantment, where she literally took a left turn in Albuquerque on the way to L.A. In addition to work with various film studios and as a Leadership Coach, she is a Program Manager at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Most people also know that Stacy is terribly, deeply, hilariously afraid of sharks, so she doesn’t get to the beach much.

Director Christian Davis is an award-winning writer, director and illustrator. His projects include The Temple and Memory, both through Amazon Studios, 1309 and The Devil You Know… with Concrete Dog Productions and most recently, The Fidelio Incident, a first person, narrative thriller game inspired by Beethoven’s only opera, available through Act 3 Games.
