LOS ANGELES (May 23, 2018) – Following their successful run at the 2018 Big Fire Comedy Festival, comedians Maria Wilson and Bethany Vee are bringing LADY FARTS to the Hollywood Fringe Festival in June, marking their debut at the iconic festival. The “farts” duo is throwing caution to the wind and taking the audience with them on a deep dive from childhood through adulthood, examining the embarrassing truths of their lives.

“We can all generally agree that everyone has secrets. . . Well, we don’t anymore,” shared Bethany.

Echoing Bethany’s sentiments, Maria added, “Truth is freedom. We’ve all done things in our lives that we’re not proud of and we plan to honestly share all of our dirty little secrets with the world.”

Combining sketch comedy, stand-up, music and storytelling, LADY FARTS has something for everyone with its comedic examination of internal and external relationships with family, friends, bodies, sexuality, gender, and societal norms. Against the backdrop of the #MeToo era, the dynamic women hope to break through the noise and inspire others to accept their own personal flaws in a world with an overabundance of self-criticism and shame by urging audiences to turn that negative self-awareness into self-love and acceptance.

The one-act show will run for three consecutive Saturdays at 6 PM beginning June 9 on the Oh My Ribs! stage at The Complex Theater, 6468 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, 90038.

ABOUT THE CREATORS

Actor and sketch/stand-up comedian Bethany Vee hails from the Western side of Pennsylvania, more specifically Pittsburgh. She graduated with a B.A. in Theatre and has trained at UCB (NYC) and GROUNDLINGS (LA). Bethany has performed as a stand-up comedian in NYC and LA and has performed sketch comedy regularly on the Second City Hollywood stage. Maria Wilson is an actor and sketch comedian who hails from the other side of Pennsylvania, the Philly side. She earned a B.A. in Theatre and a degree from Second City Chicago’s Conservatory. Maria has performed on Second City Chicago’s ETC Stage as well as Second City Hollywood in several revues.
