Love is blind… until a philosopher, a lawyer, and a jilted ex-girlfriend come into it.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Josh Inselberg, Producer [email protected]

May 18, 2018 Hollywood, CA- An upscale dinner party turns disastrous when guests watch a wedding video that accidentally reveals their humiliating secrets, courtesy of a cat-mounted camera.

THE UNEXAMINED BREAKUP IS NOT WORTH HAVING. That’s what dinner guest RUSS, an obtrusive philosophy professor believes when invited to a party hosted by SHAVONNE, a haughty PR rep, who boasts a new house and a new husband, THAX. Fresh off the honeymoon, Shavonne is eager to debut her elaborate wedding video to this captive audience. However, the attention from her big day is diverted when an invitation to their elusive best friend, DORIAN, is intercepted by NAN, his unstable ex-girlfriend. Nan crashes the party in the hopes of finding Dorian there — though he’s just as likely to be on a schooner bound for Bangladesh. The dinner party takes a farcical turn when Russ sees this as the perfect opportunity to examine this break up and espouse on his theories of truth and virtue. Russ will use the wedding video as a key piece of evidence in this examination, a clear dig at his nemesis FAITH, who’s law career he lives to mock. But the other guests, BILLIE (a Belarusian beauty), and COLIN, (Faith’s soccer-obsessed boyfriend), don’t realize how cathartic this wedding video will be once secret moments are revealed by a hidden camera attached to the family cat’s collar.

CAT CAM CATHARSIS is fun, farcical exploration of the idealistic lives we create through modern social media and technological advancement. What is real love? What does it mean? What does it take for us to embrace it when we find it? These subjects and more are debated in this hilarious eight-cast ensemble dinner party romp. Written by Lauren Ashley Oliver, film and TV writer, “Cat Cam Catharsis” is her first play, after recently coming off shows including USA’s Mr. Robot and James Franco’s ‘The Pretenders”.

Director Miles Berman debuts his directing chops, previously performing in over 60 projects. Miles was the Artistic Director of the Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center in 2016 and produced three plays that year for various theatre companies.
