I DIED TODAY written and directed by two-time Emmy Nominee Greg LaVoi premiers at the Actors Co. at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. On a rainy suburban street Jake realizes he died today as he looks at his lifeless body and his loyal dog keeping watch. He wonders if his life mattered, how he feels now that he’s dead and who loved him and who he ultimately loved. I DIED TODAY Opens June 2 at The Actors Company, 916 A

Based on LaVoi’s own near-death experience, I DIED TODAY is 1 Story. 1 Character. 4 Actors. 4 Unique Interpretations. 14 Performances. I DIED TODAY is a drama with dark comedic undertones. Jake is resurrected from the dead. Not as the middle-aged man he was. But as his 20-something self. LaVoi takes the audience on a twenty-minute emotional journey of realizing what death means and how love truly is the only thing Jake will miss.

The Diverse cast features: DAVID GARELIK, RENE ROSADO, JAHMONE DUHANEY and Fringe Veteran MICHAEL ORLANDI.

GREG LAVOI is a Costume Designer and storyteller. For 13 years he told stories through the clothes that KYRA SEDGWICK wore on THE CLOSER and then MARY MCDONNELL wore on MAJOR CRIMES. He wrote the Best Selling coffee table book BARBIE LOVES LA and directed a short film SISTER JUDY AND THE
DELINQUENTS. He re-launched the couture fashion line Irene by Greg LaVoi available at Neiman Marcus. As a child his parents built a theater in the basement of their home so he could produce and direct plays with the neighborhood kids.

LaVoi suffered Pulmonary Embolisms in 2017
following simple knee surgery. DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) and PE (Pulmonary Embolisms) kill more Americans annually than Breast Cancer, Traffic Accidents and HIV combined.
