Haiku
Written by Katherine Snodgrass
Directed and Produced by Mary Smith

Haiku, most recently seen at the Los Angeles City College Theatre Academy, makes it return to the stage. With an all-female cast, female playwright, and female director it’s a win for sisterhood!

An intimate and moving piece that sheds light on Autism. The story focuses on Louise, a young woman with severe Autism, who sometimes speaks in beautiful haiku poetry. Her mother, Nell, has been publishing the haikus under her own name and when the eldest daughter, Billie, arrives she finds it hard to believe that her Louise could be capable of such a thing.

Step into the lives of a mother’s love, one sister’s struggle with with doing what is right, and another sister who may have a brilliant artist trapped insider her mind. Watch as they search for the compassion and understanding they must find within themselves.
